Obituary of Donald Dura
Donald Michael Dura- born October 10, 1954 and lost his battle with lung cancer on August 15, 2017 while being surrounded by family. He was a beloved Father, Brother, Grandfather, Cousin and Friend to many. From the moment he arrived on this earth at an Army hospital in Bad Kreuanach Germany, he was destined to travel. That was especially evident in Don’s career of being an Over the Road Semi-truck driver. He traveled all over North America and Canada over a career span of 40 plus years. He always told stories of the places he had seen and the people he had met along the way. Don was a native of Hamburg Arkansas but had moved to the Buffalo NY area to help when his mom had become ill. After his mom passed he eventually moved back to Arkansas but often traveled back and forth to Western New York to see his family who remains in this area. He loved his family. Don especially looked forward to the weekly Sunday dinners with his aunt and cousins in Arkansas. He enjoyed fishing, southern sweet tea, a good cup of coffee and good conversation. He was a kind-hearted soul who would help anyone in their time of need and made friends easily. His grin and off beat goofy sense of humor will be greatly missed. He always wanted to make people smile. He was preceded in death by his wife, Jonnie Sue Dura and daughter Stacie and his father and mother, Capt. William M. & Frances A (Mormon) Dura. Don is survived by a son Michael B. Dura and grand daughter Aubree Breille, grand son Anthony (Lockport, NY), a brother William (Bill) M. Dura (Milford, PA and Palm Coast, FL) – nephew – Christopher (Denver, CO) and a sister Mary F. Anstett (ne Dura) and husband Michael and nieces/nephew Sarah, Amanda & Jonathan (JT) (East Aurora, NY); one surviving Aunt- Bessie Pierce- along with a host of cousins in Arkansas, Louisiana and throughout the south. Don was also affectionately known as DonDon (pseudo grandpa) to Jaydon, Lucas, and Ian.
MAY GOD QUIET AND REST HIS SOUL.
