Frank C. Riso, Jr.
May 25, 1962 –January 29, 2021
“Frankie boy” Riso of North Buffalo, passed away suddenly January 29, 2021 at the age of 58.
Born and raised in Buffalo, Frank attended Saint Joseph’s Collegiate Institute where he earned All Catholic Honors in tennis. Upon graduation, Frank was active as a bartender and worked in the restaurant industry for many years, including several years at Sunset Bay Beach Club.
In 1989, he partnered with his brother Mike to start Swing in Time Golf Shop in Williamsville, NY. This shop specialized in professional golf instruction and made to order golf clubs. The antique memorabilia and old-fashioned service brought a unique charm. In 2004, Frank opened Frank Riso Golf Shop which was located on Hertel Avenue.
In 2000, Frank met the love of his life, the former Laurie Czajka. They married in 2003. Frank lived life to the fullest. He enjoyed wine tasting in the Finger Lakes, cruises with friends and family, fine bourbon and entertaining on “the porch” at their Crescent Avenue home. He was happiest when Laurie was at his side.
Through it all, Frankie was a free spirit who loved life. He cherished family, friends, good food and drink. He was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need with an ever-present smile on his face. His sudden passing is deeply felt by all of those who knew him. He was truly one of a kind!
He is survived by his wife, Laurie, siblings, Lynn Riso Wright (partner Matt Jost), Mike (Nancy) of Largo, FL, Marie (Jim) Biggs of Minneapolis, MN, Chuck (Joanne), Stephanie (Rich), and Christian (Cathy) of Buffalo, NY., son-in-law to Ted and Andrea Czajka, brother-in-law to Jim and Gary (Gina). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great niece and nephews. Frank was loved by many Crescent Avenue neighbors, friends and special “puppy powers” too numerous to mention.
FOREVER IN OUR HEARTS!
