Obituary of Paul Kingston
KINGSTON - Paul Paul came to the United States from England by way of Rhodesia in 1956. He settled in Buffalo for many years. In 1971, he met Penny Lips and they began a 46-plus year loving relationship. Paul fulfilled his plan when he retired to Ellicottville in the mid-1990s. There he pursued his passion for gardening and photography. As a Master Gardener he gladly shared his knowledge with others. With photography many of his works have sold in the Ellicottville shops. Additionally, he lent his time and talents to the Nannen Arboretum, serving as President of the board and the Ellicottville Memorial Library, serving on the Board of Trustees for many years. All who knew Paul were touched by his optimistic outlook, his wonderful sense of humor and his lighthearted spirit. He will be greatly missed by his family and many friends here, in England and elsewhere. Besides Penny, Paul is survived by brothers Peter (Edna) and Laurie (Sheila) and sister Tessa (Alf) Prater along with many nieces and nephews. Paul died on May 7, 2018 at the age of 86 after several months of declining health. Following Paul's wishes there will be no wake or memorial service. If desired, donations in Paul's memory are welcome by the Nannen Arboretum, 28 Parkside Drive, PO Box 1016, Ellicottville, NY 14731 and the Ellicottville Memorial Library, 6499 Maples Road, Ellicottville, NY 14731.
