Obituary of Leslie J. Monpere
Our mom went home to be with the Lord on July 23, 2018 after a short 4-month battle with a very aggressive form Oropharyngeal cancer. She fought the good fight until the very end and is finally at peace with no pain, no tears, and no suffering. She was joined by her beloved cat Dommy, who passed away the week before her. We had the honor of setting her free in a private ash scattering ceremony in the Gulf of Mexico off Clearwater, FL, where her parents’ ashes were scattered many years ago.
Mom loved to cruise in the Caribbean every year and swim with the stingrays in the Caymans. She loved the white sand beaches and the breathtaking sunsets. She so enjoyed her RV at Leisurewood Recreational Community and spent many years relaxing and enjoying a well-deserved retirement after 25 years working for the University at Buffalo Dental School.
She was the loving daughter of the late Sherman and Lillian Hamilton and is survived by eldest daughter Denise (Monpere) Kiblin, son Scott Monpere, youngest daughter Lisa Monpere-Cruz, and son-in-law Pablo Cruz. Beloved Grandmother of Kristi Shelton, Connie Shelton, Amanda Tober, Amber Monpere, Brittany Monpere, Samuel Monpere, and Shelbi Monpere. She was also a Great grandmother of 8. Sister of Susan Deal. Former wife of Charles Monpere.

Mom, we love you so much and will miss you forever. You are now one of our angels who keeps watch over us!
