Obituary of Jannie Hampton
Jannie Hampton was born April 1, 1934 in Orangeburg, South Carolina to the late George Allen Hampton and Anna Green Hampton. Jannie was the third oldest of eleven children. Jannie expressed love for her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ at an early age in Orangeburg, SC. Wanting a better life and in search of more opportunities Jannie relocated to New York City. As a young adult Jannie entered the work force and learned the value of hard work and dedication. She held various jobs including: housekeeping, home health aid, foster parenting and later on in life became an entrepreneur. Jannie was full of life. She was fierce, feisty, loving, and didn’t have problem with speaking her mind. She loved spending time with her family and friends and she never needed a reason to celebrate. Jannie’s passion was making custom crafts, She enjoyed working with her hands creating beautiful crafts and creating flower arrangements. As soon as she would make something she would give it away. It gave her much joy to see someone smile once they received one of her craft projects. Jannie departed her life on April 23, 2020 in Buffalo, NY. She was preceded in death by her two children Horace Hampton and Irene Jackson, two sisters and six brothers. Jannie’s memories are cherished by her children Patricia Cruel of Columbia SC, Frankie(Antoinette) Hampton of Buffalo NY, Thomas(Deloris) Hampton of Brooklyn NY, June Singleton of Beaumont, TX, Frances (Jermaine) Olivero-Booker of Buffalo, NY, Christopher(Melinda) Guardiola of Middletown, NY; siblings Ella Mae Graham of Maryland and Solomon(Tina) Hampton of Florida; twenty-two grand children; thirteen great-grand children and a host of relatives and dear friends.
