Obituary of Stella Ingalls Sayles
Stella Ingalls Sayles, age 89, passed away peacefully in Hamburg, NY on December 16, 2020 due to complications associated with COVID-19. She was born October 25, 1931 in Covington, PA to Clayton and Sylvia Beebe Ingalls. She met her husband Ralph R. Sayles in Buffalo NY, who preceded her in death in 2014.
Stella loved her family and always said that her most favorite thing in life was being a mother. She sewed doll clothes and children's clothes. She enjoyed crafts and sharing them with others. She baked wonderfully and enjoyed having dinner ready every night for the family. She shared so much knowledge with her children of these life skills that it will be easy for them to keep her in their hearts forever. She loved her grandchildren with all her heart and was so proud to be a grandmother of twins. Stella had many friends and business associates who appreciated her wit, prose and leadership. She was well recognized for her numerous articles in various publications. Most notably DODA (Door and Operator Dealers Association). She thoroughly enjoyed writing and was proud of her accomplishments.
Stella believed in living by ’The Golden Rule’ and honored it every day.
Stella is survived by her three children, Susan Jane Sayles, Lori Ellen (Sayles) MacWilliams and Mark Edward Sayles. Her grandchildren Michael Thomas and Jessica Anne MacWilliams as well as her nephews and nieces, whom she loved dearly. Preceding her in death are her six brothers and sisters: Victor Ingalls, Raymond Ingalls, Fred Ingalls, Rosaleen Dushoff, Ruby Zeafla and Wilma Froebel.
At her request, no service will be held. Her ashes will be buried next to her brothers Victor and Raymond, and sister, Wilma, near her Mother and other family members in the Homer Cemetery, Inez, Potter County, Coudersport, PA this spring.
