
Obituary of Marie Delehanty
Of Tonawanda, January 16, 2021, born May 4, 1936 in Albany, to the late Edgar and Elsa Troidle, passed away on January 16, 2021, after a brave battle with dementia and complications from COVID. Marie graduated from Vincentian Institute and attended the College of St. Rose before meeting her husband of 61 years. They married in 1959 and settled in Tonawanda, NY. Marie will always be remembered as a loving and supportive wife, a magnificent mother and grandmother, a wonderful gentle woman, a caring cousin and a very special sibling. She led a good life and enthusiastically enjoyed her years in Albany, Buffalo and Ballston Lake. Faith, family and friends were her top priorities and her reason for being. She knew how to love deeply and everyone felt it. Marie is survived by her husband, David; her children, Edward (Lori) Delehanty, Anne (Thomas) Phillips, Ellen (Thomas) Schoenfeld, David Delehanty Jr., and Dr. Janice (Brian) Delehanty-Dillon; nine grandchildren, Clare, Austin, Madeline, Brittany, Emma, Kate, Morgan, Sheridan, Alannah; her brothers Thomas (Helen) Troidle, Dr. Paul (Janet) Troidle, and many nieces and nephews. Friends may call on Friday, January 22, 2021, from 3-5 PM at the JOHN E. ROBERTS FUNERAL HOME (Amherst Chapel), 280 Grover Cleveland Highway at North Bailey. COVID Guidelines will be adhered to. Masks required. A Mass to Celebrate Marie’s Life will be held at a later date in the Albany area. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association of Western New York.
