Obituary of Marjorie Leona Heim

Marjorie left the physical world peacefully on December 14th, 2020 after a brave five year battle against cancer. Her wonderful husband, William Frank Heim, was at her side. It was his favorite place to be for over sixty-three years. Marjorie was born on September 15th, 1937, to Clyde and Leona Schrader in Buffalo. She was the middle child with two older sisters, June and Carolyn, and younger siblings, Linda and Jack. She graduated from Bennett High School. Marjorie was set up on a blind date by her sister June and husband Don. It went well (it was William). Marjorie and William had a son, Michael William, married to Tina, and a daughter, Cynthia Leigh, married to Kyle SanGiovanni. She was very involved in their lives, from Cub Scout den mother to living in NYC one Summer while Cynthia studied ballet. The family often spent snowy days Cross Country Skiing together at Chestnut Ridge and Sprague Brook. She was an outstanding Grandmother to Michael and Tina’s son Christopher William, and Cynthia and Kyle’s daughter Sofia Leigh. Marjorie was an artful cake decorator, crocheted the most beautiful baby outfits and was an accomplished seamstress. She sewed Cynthia’s wedding gown, it was impressive! She had an eye for photography, favoring doorways like her dad did. She won a first place ribbon at the Erie County Fair for one of her images. Marjorie and William traveled the world together, they saw the pyramids of Egypt, the Russian Kremlin, walked the Great Wall of China, cruised the Danube and kissed the Blarney Stone. They drove across the country several times and saw the beauty of almost every National Park. They were talented dancers from Ballroom to Country, enjoyed Tai Chi and spent many seasons as ushers at Shea’s Buffalo. Marjorie retired as a Teacher’s Aide from the Cheektowaga Central School District. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date when it is safe to gather. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Marjorie’s name to the Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center. Please share condolences www.jerfh.com
