Obituary of Donald James Cavallari
Donald James Cavallari passed away suddenly at Buffalo ECMC hospital in Amherst on April 19th, 2022, due to complications after undergoing back surgery. On this day, surrounded by his family, Heaven gained a very special angel. Don went home to be with our Lord and his parents; Albert and Yolanne Cavallari.
Don was 64 years old, born on July 16th, 1957. A veteran from the Vietnam War Era, he carried his service with honor through his career as a general contractor. There was never a job too big or small for Don, his hands were the tools of his trade.
Don was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother, and family was always his foundation as shown by his dedication to them until his last day. He is survived by his wife Lynn Cavallari; his five children: Michelle Engler, Caitlin Furgason, Jennifer Gassman, Don Cavallari II, and Russell Cavallari; Grandpa and Papa to his seven grandchildren: Erik Furgason, Ethan Furgason, Kora Furgason, Jensen Gassman, Cheyenne Engler, Ava Gassman, and Kyleigh Engler; his two younger brothers: Robert Cavallari, Albert Cavallari and their families.
Don was hardworking, a shoulder to lean on, and caring yet firm when he needed to be. Don was the type of man that would give the last that he had if it meant helping someone in need. The loss of a man like Don is a loss that will be felt by many. His tough yet gentle character was a comfort and had a profound impact on all those who had the honor to meet him. His presence was felt upon entering a room, yet his hands and arms were the comfort needed on the hardest days. We got it from here Don, your watch is over. We’ll see you on the high ground.
